There are many opportunities in the South Hams for people to get involved in local activities and issues - including those concerned with the local environment, green issues and sustainable living. It is important that members of the community get actively involved, to ensure that future developments are in the best interests of the South Hams and its sustainable future.

A Wide range of Voluntary and Community Groups exist though which members of the community can have their say and take part in local action. Grassroots aims to highlight the work of these groups and make it easy for members of the community to locate a group with the particular interests. The Grassroots Project also seeks to encourage collaborate working between different groups on issues of common interest.
